There will be a pre-symposium icebreaker event on Sunday and banquet on Thursday afternoon for attendees and accompanying people.
The pre-symposium icebreaker is going to take place on Sunday 5th June from 18:00 to 20:00 in the hall of the Bizkaia Aretoa. Those who want can optionally come before that time to install their posters, artistic works etc.
The conference banquet will take place the Thursday evening from 19:00 until 23:00 at the Guggenheim museum. First we will have a private guided tour and around 20:30 we will have the dinner and the awards ceremony in the hall of the museum.

Artworks on climate change, ice, water and sustainability produced by Jesus Mari Lazkano, artist from Salt Road agency, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) and many others open to the general public on Wednesday 8th in the afternoon.
Pre-symposium workshop
Pre-symposium workshop
A group of experts in the history and philosophy of environmental science will moderate a virtual workshop and discussion on social responsibility and scientific decolonialism, with a focus on the impacts of science on Arctic communities. The workshop is free and open to the public.
The workshop will be moderated by Prof. Adriana Craciun (Boston University and Pardee School of Global Studies, USA), Prof. Michael Bravo (University of Cambridge and Scott Polar Institute, UK), Prof. Mark Jackson (University of Bristol, UK) and Prof. Martyn Tranter (Aarhus University, Denmark). The workshop will be held online in Tuesday, April 5 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm ET (7:00-9:00 pm CEST).
After the workshop, participants will work on the conclusions drawn from the discussions and present them at the ISS Symposium in the form of a panel discussion.
